ROBOTS (Part I)

According to wikipedia "A robot is a mechanical or virtual artificial agent. In practice, it is usually an electro-mechanical system which, by its appearance or movements, conveys a sense that it has intent or agency of its own. The word robot can refer to both physical robots and virtual software agents, but the latter are usually referred to as bots. There is no consensus on which machines qualify as robots, but there is general agreement among experts and the public that robots tend to do some or all of the following: move around, operate a mechanical arm, sense and manipulate their environment, and exhibit intelligent behavior, especially behavior which mimics humans or animals."

BUT REALLY THEY ARE MUCH MORE THAN THE CONVENTIONAL MACHINES ,THEY ARE TRENDIER AND SMART .

1. HRP-2:

Compared to the Asimo, the HRP can do several unique things. First, it can lie down and get back up again - something small humanoids can do, but none as large as the HRP. It accomplishes this with a flexible torso joint, bending rather than rotating as seen in newer Asimo models. The spindly design of the legs allows one leg to be put in front of the other - in theory, the HRP could walk on a narrow plank or through very narrow spaces. It uses 2 1GHz onboard computers for control, and has three visual sensors.

2.SARCOMAN:You must have seen robots doing crazy things and be pleased about the technology behind the machine. Sarcoman robot certainly is a step forward in robotics for it can dance, juggle, play air hockey, balance a pole, as well as play paddle ball that even you might not be able to carry out. See the videos after the jump.
